Voiceover script

The script for our voiceover is meant to be read out by a male, as it's the voice of Maggie's boyfriend; right now, the script is shown below however it might not be exactly the same in our final piece.
___________________________________________________
"There are some things you should know about Maggie, we've been together two years, four months and eleven days. Her mind works differently to other people's.
(pause)
And another thing is she has lots of secrets.
(pause)
Maggie's been leaving the house every other day for a while now to take pictures, of the same place, in the same field. She won't tell me why.
(pause)
But today; she'll tell me."

Music Soundtrack

I want everything about our coursework to be very specific, the ideas have been original and not based on anything I've seen or read, and so the music must follow in the same way. Therefore when it came to discussing music we've decided to fabricate our own music for the film; we are using the help and talents of a friend called Nick Howley who has passed GCSE Music and is currently working at Music AS Level. He has surpassed Grade 8 piano so we saw him as more than capable of producing a unique and individual track that would suit our work.

However, because our script is not set in stone and we want as much flexibility in our filming as possible, we plan to film and piece together our sequence before asking Nick to compose and apply the music to it- this way we can be sure that it will fit the events in the film as well as possible.

Props

The props which we will be using consist of:
-Camera
-Doll
-Hair brush and cosmetics
-Photo album and photos
-Missing poster
-Mirror
-Bed
-Costumes/Dress
-Jewelry

Film and opening sequence synopsis

Opening Sequence:

A young woman is seen looking out of a window, we see her from behind, and then from the side, allowing us to view her profile. She jumps up before we see a mixture of brief clips showing the girl getting ready...we see her kiss a young man on the cheek before picking up her camera and leaving the house. The voiceover starts as we see more short clips of the young woman walking in an isolated area taking photos of the landscape. We see a shot of her walking past a MISSING poster of a young boy. She soon returns home to find the boy sitting downstairs waiting for her, she leaves her camera on the table and then walks out of the room, quickly pursued by her male counterpart.

Film:

(After the opening sequence), Maggie is confronted by her boyfriend about her "erratic" behaviour, Maggie flies into a rage and becomes very aggressive, she leaves the house before he can stop her. Maggie is gone for two days, and the camera never leaves the house, we only see her boyfriend as he struggles to pass time waiting for her to come back. Finally she returns, behaving as if nothing has changed, she claims the young boy that went missing is still alive and she knows how to find him and how to save him. Driven mad by her absence and his own mental struggles, her boyfriend turns on Maggie and screams at her that she is crazy- he locks her in an upstairs room and only lets her have a run of the house for an hour a day. Maggie continues to claim she can save the boy and screams for him to let her out. Days and days pass while Maggie's partner leaves the house each morning to buy food and a newspaper. He always gives the newspaper to Maggie until one day she screams as the headline informs her the young boy has been found dead. Soon after, police arrive at their home to arrest her boyfriend on suspicion of murdering the boy.

target audience and identified institution to produce film

Our target audience is young adults. We produced an audience questionnaire to establish what sort of movies people our age would prefer for example genre they liked, which was on average, comedy, horror, romantic comedies etc. We also asked things such as how many times they went to the cinema etc, our findings from the questionnaire was that they tend to go at least every month.

Institutions which would produce a film similar to ours could be First Look Studios which specialise in home video releases of TV and film such as; 'Infinity' and 'Paris je t'aime'.
